Pixelita Designs was founded in early 2006 by Joni Mueller and Ivan Minic. Joni had set up shop as Web Jones Designs in early 2003 and had been flying solo, designing primarily for Movable Type blogs until a chance meeting with Ivan at the Opera Community in late 2005. They found they shared a love of web design and graphic art. Joni admitted she lacked a bit in the graphic design department. Ivan admitted he hates to code, although he’s quite good at it. A partnership was born. And here we are.

Because we are a small shop, we can give you individualized attention. We have a few key “go to” people to handle vector graphics and sophisticated PHP and other web development issues so we’ve got you covered whether you want an ad banner campaign or a full fledged web site with all the bells and whistles.

We currently focus our design acumen on web sites using WordPress, CMS Made Simple, TextPattern or Expression Engine. Ivan also has considerable expertise in Simple Machines Forum (SMF) and its companion application, TinyPortal, which allows SMF to run like a web site.

He’s Got Class

Ivan Minic is a web designer, web developer and graphic artist born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. His large collection of stunning wallpapers, banners and buttons can be seen in the Opera Community. In addition to offering custom graphics and design, Ivan has expertise in forum management and modification and is owner and operator of Burek.co.yu, the largest Internet forum in Serbia. And as if that wasn’t enough, Ivan has written several browser plugins (most notably for Firefox and Internet Explorer). Ivan is a member at large of the Graphic Artists Guild.

Recently, Ivan was guest lecturer at BizBuzz 2007, one of the biggest IT conventions in Southeastern Europe. As owner and operator of Burek Forum, Ivan spoke about forum management in general, the growth and popularity of Internet marketing, and other IT, web design and forum related topics.

Ivan is the creative genius (right brain) behind Pixelita Designs and is responsible for all graphic elements of web sites created by Pixelita Designs after January 1, 2006. Ivan has been designing web sites since 1999. In addition to phenomenal creativity, Ivan has a perfectionist attitude and attention to detail, right down to the last pixel. Says his friend and business partner Joni Mueller:

He works in pixels all day and he can see if a design is one pixel off from ten miles away. It can be maddening, but at the same time, I am glad for it; we try to deliver quality work and he’s never let a client down yet!

Maintaining his forum takes up quite a bit of Ivan’s time, along with his graphic design work, but when he finds time to spare, Ivan enjoys shooting hoops, paintball and drawing (of course!).

She’s Got Style

Joni Mueller lives and works in Houston, Texas. The native Texan has been designing web pages professionally since 2003. She is a member of the HTML Writers Guild. Joni specializes in blog design for users of Movable Type, WordPress, TextPattern and Blogger. In 2005, Joni’s WordPress theme Zen Minimalist won Most Versatile Design in Alex King’s WordPress Theme Competition. Joni has been an active blogger since 2002 and is a member of the HTML Writers Guild/Int’l Webmasters Guild, Digital Women, and Women Designers Group.

Joni, as the left-brain side of Pixelita Designs, also brings to her web design work an appreciation for quality copywriting and an excellent command of the English language, two things she feels are sorely lacking on the Web:

I see so many web sites, professional, commercial sites, that are riddled with misspellings and incorrect grammar. To me, it’s like chalk on a blackboard. If I’m putting my best professional foot forward on the web, I want it to be perfect. Or at least grammatically correct.
